Your First Visit

Patient Forms

In today's world, we like to use technology to make our lives more efficient with information gathering. We use simple online forms to make sure we get the correct information beforehand. This is designed to get some history about your primary issue but the initial visit will be more in-depth, so don't worry about getting too detailed on your whole medical history.  This can be found under the ABOUT YOU tab on the top of our website. This process allows us to be ready for you as you walk in. It also helps us eliminate any mistakes when translating writing to the database. We still can do it the old fashioned way, but make sure you come in early to fill it out.

What to Wear

There will be a lot of moving and therapeutic work so please come to our office wearing loose and comfortable clothes. Yoga pants are fine but if we need to work on your legs we would prefer something looser to get easy access. We do have extra shorts if needed. We ask that you refrain from applying perfumes or cologne. Lots of people are sensitive to these smells and the doctor doesn't want to have a lingering smell on him for his next patients.

History

Next, you will have a chat with the doctor to discuss your health-related issues, concerns, and potential treatment options. This is by far one of the most important part of your visit because we can often figure out the cause of your concern. This initial history is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how we can help you meet your goals.

Eval

  Evaluation

The doctor will perform an evaluation by testing your movement, mobility, stability, muscle and neurological           functions.

Special Tests

We do not take X-rays in the office. If we think it is necessary to gather more information like X-Rays, MRI's, Metabolic Tests or even referral to other doctors, then we will let you know.

Treatment

Treatment

At the conclusion of history we start doing treatment. We do systematic muscle testing, manual therapy and muscle release to get you more mobile and relaxed. We then activate muscles to create stability in your movement patterns. Dysfunctional movements and compensation patterns are a huge cause of our muscle and joint problems. At this point, we apply special modalities to simulate your tissue and to enhance your recovery process. Then we do a full body buff with a myofascial releaser.  This is when we do alignments or adjustments in a way that is comfortable for you. Sometimes we use traditional mobilizations and other times we use adjusting instruments.

Self Care and Wellness Plan

Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a self care program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: how to use massage tools, massage guns, spine rollers, ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. We will work with you to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, muscle balance, stability and have a healthy diet, exercise and positive mental state.
